Hello sir ! I’vr read that one of the requirements to be able to work in tennesse is to have a permanent ECFMG certificate . However , after that Step 1 became p/f ECFMG is no longer permanent but is valid for 2 years and therefore you must do 1 year of residency in us to make it permanent . So is the 2 years ECFMG enough( meaning you just passed step 1 , 2ck and OET)? Thanks doctor!

I am not sure when Dr. Rajeev did his fellowship in Canada but today, getting a fellowship if not Canadian or US residency trained is not easy with the exception of some Middle East countries where the trainee is paid by their government and not by a Canadian hospital. Also, a trainee is required to go back home after completing the fellowship. The US is somewhat easier once you complete both step exams but again fellowships are reserved for mostly US trained doctors and to a lesser extend Canadians.

My problem is that most fellowships in USA esp in the top institutes require my post grad to be ACGME accredited - which no residency in India is. So.
